ARomaloc's reputation is now, officially, global
It started three years ago when the company took home the most highly regarded wine industry award for technological innovation in the USA, at the North Coast Wine Industry Expo held in Sonoma. AromaLoc’s patented, non-invasive solution that allows winemakers to easily retain aromas that would otherwise escape during fermentation was selected by a jury composed of experts from the North Bay Business Journal and the Wine Industry Network, winning a coveted 2021 WINnovation Award.
INTERNATIONAL attention
The WINnovation award, coming as it did in the heart of California wine country, focussed international attention on AromaLoc and its unique approach to helping winemakers enhance the quality of their wines.
Since then, the company continues to refine and improve its technology, while at the same time greatly extending its reach and impact, through its global manufacturing, marketing, and customer support partner, Verona, Italy-based JUCLAS.
AromaLoc machines and support are now available throughout Europe, the USA and Canada, South America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Asia. All while the company continues to rack up accolades as a clear industry leader.
VINITECH
Held in Bordeaux, France, VINITECH is a massive gathering of wine industry professionals. This year’s edition attracted more than 750 exhibitors, and over 45,000 attendees from 80 countries. AromaLoc was singled out, receiving a VINITECH innovation award for its “transformational” technology.
SIMEI
Held every other year since 1963 in Milan, Italy, SIMEI 2024 brought together over 33,000 attendees. Like VINITECH, SIMEI is a very important event that brings wine industry leaders together with academics, and most importantly, winemakers from around the world — this year, from 32 countries.
A high point each year at SIMEI is the Lucio Mastroberarchino Innovation Challenge, a competition that sees leading technological advances celebrated during the event. We are proud to announce that AromaLoc is a 2024 winner!

It is highly unusual — perhaps unprecedented — for a technology to win both at VINITECH and SIMEI in the same year. We’re certainly safe in saying that no Canadian company has ever achieved this!
These wins are testament to the brilliant inventiveness of AromaLoc founder, Dr. Richard Jones, the tenacity of his team, and the hard work and attention to detail of their partners at JUCLAS, led by company president, Alessandro Angilella.
